The Atlanta trip: Rain Gods did spoilt brat
The long weekend is over and it never seemed to me that it was long enough. That’s quite usual when you are having nice time. So, I am back from Atlanta. It was a great trip as I enjoyed a lot despite the Rain Gods playing spoilt brat for most part of the trip.
My roommates and I started at around 10 on Saturday morning and we reached Atlanta by 1. We checked in and we got room at the 25th floor and believe me I was at the 25th floor for the first time in my life. It was good to see these high buildings in Atlanta downtown.
At 3 PM, we started off to explore Atlanta and it was really different. More crowd than I ever expected and the two American roommates were as if they had come to some other country. We could hardly see any white people on the streets. Those people will approach u and ask for cigarettes or money. It was quite embarrassing for me to see them doing like that in USA.
Exploration started with the underground mall and it doesn’t seem to attract my attention expect the fact that it seemed like some crowded India market. Then we went to explore the world of coke, but that was also OK (nothing great for me as during one year in coke I had learnt lot of things about this biggest brand).
Fun started after that and what else to do that than to have a nice dinner. We ate at Steak and Ale and it was really good. After dinner, we went to a sports bar to play pool and we only played pool there as my roommates were all below 21. Sunday morning Rain Gods came into picture and we had fun walking in that rain to go toTurner field to watch the baseball game between Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Philies. Both things were first for me – watching a match in stadium and watching baseball. I liked watching the game and it was not tough for me to understand the game (courtesy Indian cricket). Finally, the Braves won the game pretty easily.
Then we all explored Atlanta in rain, but this time we were in car. We also got lost of our routes few times and finally came back to the hotel. Played pool, went to ESPN Zone and yeah also saw the coke head quarters which I always wanted to after joining coke.
Now I am back to Knoxville after that smaller long weekend.
